Temperature Rating
Temperature ratings for sleeping bags and mattresses are determined using a test designed by ASTM. There is no test designed for a modular sleep system that integrates a mattress with insulation layers.
The values below are based on feedback we’ve received while testing the Badger Bed in different environments.
The Therm-a-Rest MondoKing XXL has an insulation rating of R7 which makes it one of the warmest mattresses on the market. You loose a lot of heat from below, so a quality mattress is key to being comfortable.
The Badger Bed Baja Bundle should keep you warm above 40 degrees. We’ve added a Sierra Down quilt and slept comfortable at 15 degrees.

I have found a sleep system I can grab and throw down just about any where, I have confidence that it can be adjusted to work in most if not all temperature ranges that I camp in. That includes sub-freezing spring and fall shoulder temperatures, to much warmer summer time temps, all in one package that I can toss in the car and get going on my camping trip. Comfort, room to move, durability, and wash-ability included. Great for my outdoor adventures. Stuart Born was a pleasure to meet.
Solved a challenging ‚ sleeping issue. Placed my Badger Bed 30 in my RV with mattress on the bed in my RV. Due to the limited space in RV, combined with the features of the Badger Bed 30 making the bed was a snap. Could secure sheets, quilt and control side entry. Not only did the product improve comfort and sleeping, but made each morning an easier chore to make the bed!!
Everything was received as expected. Packaging was perfect and I liked the personal touch of the handwritten "Thank you" note for the purchase and the offer of assistance if needed. I will be putting the sleep system to the in about a week and I am confident it will perform well. It is a great product and put together with quality.
